Rachana Banerjee (Bengali: রচনা ব্যানার্জী) is a Bengali actress in Calcutta based BengaliCinema at Tollywood. She was born on October 2, 1978 in Calcutta, of West Bengal, India. Apart fromBengali movies she has also done several Oriya movies. She has been gettingaccolades for her Oriya, Telugu & Hindi films in China.Rachana Banerjee has done about 35 film with BengaliSuperstar Prosenjit. Apart from working with Prosenjit, she also shared thescreen opposite to Jishu Sengupta, Jeet, Ferdous, Siddharta and more. She isalso one of the main choice for advertisers in Calcutta. Rachana acted in a couple of hindimovies like Sooryavansham in 1999 and Amodini in 1994. Sooryavansham was a bighit as the main lead was played by Amitabh Bachchan in a dual role. Amodini wasnot that as popular as Sooryavansham, but the movie did pretty well. EarlierRachana had an affair with Siddhanta Mahapatra and married him then divorcedand left Oriya Film Industry.
